Five weeks

Five weeks pregnant today, I feel grateful for time -- time to breathe, time to plan, time to learn. Time with Trenton, slow mornings and long afternoon naps. What a friend, time. I also find comfort in a worldwide community of women that have experienced, in so many different ways, the strange, wonderful role of motherhood -- of bringing a child into the world. What an honor to join them, to be welcomed into such a widely diverse sisterhood, bonded by our physical, emotional and spiritual elements, by the phenomenon of creating life.
